A Review of the UMFA Utah Museum of Fine Art

Salt Lake has more than its fair share of galleries and artists. The Utah Museum of Fine Art is world known.   Featured in a recent exhibition are some late artist’s most popular “suites” or portfolios of work including the “Maos,” “Marilyn Monroes,” “Campbell’s Soup,” “Mick Jaggers,” “Ten Jews,” and “Cowboys and Indians.”  In addition several individual prints are highlighted including “John F. Kennedy”.

They contain rich collections of fine art, dinosaur bones, Native American artifacts and gems. Learn more about the interactive exhibits, traveling exhibits, museum events, lecture series and classes each museum offers. They began collecting art in the early 1900s, when modern art was still not widely known, let alone appreciated.

Each winner will also be invited to attend a workshop at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts taught by a notable regional artist. The date of the workshop is to be determined. Special educational programs, concerts, lectures, and an exceptionally knowledgeable staff complement the exhibits. In its fourth week going on, the show has managed to attract around 14550 visitors so far and 520 visitors every day on an average.
